privacy
last updated: 29 october 2026this policy explains what nusic ("we", "us") collects when you use nusic.com and the artist pages on it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. we keep it short and only collect what we need.
information you give us
- your account: your first and last name, email and password (stored encrypted; we can't read it).
- your application: your photo, your 60-second tape, the links you send (your music, your instagram or tiktok), what you do in music, and whether you agreed to your tape being featured.
- your page: everything you add: your display name, photo, cover image, bio, songs, credits, links, sections, and the artists or managers you list.
- plaques and charts: what you apply for and the proof link you send.
- messages: anything you send us, like feedback in your dashboard or an email to help@nusic.com.
information about other people
members can add other people to their page: an artist on a manager's roster (a name, a photo, a link), or the artist on a song they worked on. we use that only to show it on that page and, if the other person is on nusic, to ask them to confirm it. if you're listed on someone's page and want it changed or removed, email privacy@nusic.com.
information we collect automatically
- visits to artist pages and nusic.com: that a page was viewed or a link was tapped, which one, the site the visitor came from, their country and whether they're on a phone or computer. we work out the country from the ip address and then discard the address. we don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't build profiles of visitors.
- your account and security: if you log in, a cookie keeps you logged in on that device. we keep a note of the devices you've logged in from (like "iphone · safari" and a country) so we can email you about a log-in from somewhere new.
- a member's own visits to their own page aren't counted in their analytics.
information from other sources
- when you paste a song link, we read that song's public details (title, artist, artwork, release date) through the official tools spotify, apple and deezer provide for this. we don't scrape their sites.
- when you paste a link to another site (a store, a website), we fetch that page once to get its preview picture or product details, the way messaging apps make link previews, and keep a copy of the picture so your page loads fast. we say who we are when we do, and we skip sites that ask not to be read.
- when you choose a password, we check it hasn't appeared in a known data breach, using have i been pwned. only the first five characters of a scrambled (hashed) version of it ever leave our server, never the password.
players from other services
when a visitor presses play, the song plays in a player from the service it's on (such as spotify, apple music, youtube, soundcloud or deezer). that player is run by that service, which may collect information under its own privacy policy. youtube videos load in youtube's privacy-enhanced mode, and nothing loads from youtube until play is pressed.
how we use it
- to review applications, run your account and show your page (needed to provide nusic to you).
- to check plaques and chart positions you apply for, and to show confirmed ones.

- to send you emails about your account, your application, your page and things that need your answer. we don't send marketing emails without asking.
- to keep nusic safe: to stop fraud, impersonation, spam and abuse, and to find and fix errors.
- to feature your tape, only if you said yes (you can change your mind in your account).
- to meet our legal obligations.
who we share it with

- our providers: companies that host nusic, store our data and files, and deliver our email, under contracts that limit them to providing that service to us.

- if nusic changes hands: as part of a merger, sale or similar, under this policy.
- with your consent, or when you ask us to.
we don't sell your information, share it with advertisers, or show ads. we may share totals that can't identify anyone.
where it's processed
